HAVANA, Nov 10 From November 20 to 24, the best of the art of dress on the island will meet in the Cuba Pavilion, in the Fourth Edition of Fashion Week in Havana, ideal space for the exchange of experiences between designers and the public .

At the 2018 event, 72 national and three foreign artists will participate; There will be 48 fashion shows, four of them in children’s fashion and four themed ones that will show the public the latest trends in bathing suits, bridal gowns, caftans and specifically, a catwalk dedicated to men.

This edition will be especially dedicated to the appointment of Trinidad as an artisan city and will provide a space for children, on Saturday 24 from 4 in the afternoon, which includes a catwalk and a cultural activity.

Although this week will only be an exhibition, since no product will be marketed, Mercy Correa, director of the National Craft Center of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets, acknowledged its importance in rescuing the clothing culture in Cuba, as it influences the taste of population.

For the first time, within the framework of the week, a theoretical event will be held at the headquarters of the Alliance Française de Prado, on November 26, to address issues relating to the history of fashion and the growing polemics of how tastes personal can influence the way of dressing of each person, with the participation of Cuban designers Carmen Gómez, Piedad Subirats, Nieves Laferte and Maité Duménico.

The public will be able to access the catwalks, which will be held every day starting at eight o’clock at night, buying the tickets beforehand, which will begin to be sold starting on Tuesday the 13th at the Cuba Pavilion, for the price of 25 pesos.

As a collateral space to the appointment will be a photographic exhibition entitled # AMAR & YA, in Studio 50, appointment in Lugareño between Carlos III and Almendares, by artist May Reguera, which collects snapshots of the three previous editions of fashion week.
