LE CHANSONNIER AND LOVE OF FRANCE IN HAVANA
By: Aylet Rodríguez González They say that French is the language of love. This feeling had Jean Claude Lamouroux and Daniel Poupard ,so both traveled to Cuba and founded Le Chansonnier in Havana.
The word chansonnier, which literally means troubadour, gave the name to the restaurant of Eugene Varlin and Pierre Dupont , Pierre Dupont was known for being a great humanist.
A mystical fusion of art is perceptible in the Restaurant, located in the historic blue mansion in El Vedado, which welcomed guest’s like US senators, the mayor of Gijón; renowned artists such as Benicio del Toro, Kate Moss and Uma Thurman.
