THE HAVANA RIVIERA CELEBRATES 61 YEARS
HAVANA, Dec 10 (P L ) The Havana Riviera Hotel is now 61 years old from its opening in an attractive site of this capital, a space of time that has filled its salons and its history with singular meaning.
The Spanish company Iberostar Hotels and Resorts manages this installation since January 2017, which has led to a remodeling of its spaces and a new brightness for such an important hotel.
In his time as commander of the American mafia in this country, and with historical milestones, the Havana Riviera has a privileged position in this capital, in front of the Malecón and in its decoration treasures works of art of important sculptors and painters of the island.
This is the second hotel managed by Iberostar, an establishment with 352 rooms that operates under the name of Iberostar Riviera, with a five-star category.
In this way, the company categorizes it as Premium Gold, an important level for the Spanish company.
This installation is the twelfth hotel of the firm in Cuba, which indicates a strengthening of Iberostar’s commitment to this tourist destination.
Located on the well known Malecon of the Cuban capital and with an architecture from the time it was inaugurated (1957), the Riviera Hotel initiated an ambitious project of integral reform. As a result, the installation will reach 352 completely renovated rooms.
This project also includes common spaces and adapts the offer of products and services of this establishment to the company’s quality levels.
The hotel and its administration, reinforce the taste for the famous Cabaret Copa Room, great show room, one of the most recognized places of Havana nights.
This remodeled hotel is a milestone in Iberostar’s history, and shows its commitment to Cuba as a destination of maximum relevance in the hotel chain’s portfolio.
The Riviera thus becomes the second hotel of the chain in Havana, which already has the Iberostar Parque Central.
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts currently has 11 other hotels in Cuba. In 2017, the company also added its thirteenth hotel to its portfolio in Cuba, the Iberostar Bella Vista Varadero, a five-star establishment with 827 rooms.
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is the holiday hotel chain founded in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain) by the Fluxà family in 1986.
The Riviera Hotel is located on Paseo and Malecón Street, Vedado, in front of the Havana Malecon.
The original plans and the project of the hotel were created in the United States by the Fedelman Construction Corporation and by the Technical Architect in Cuba Manuel Carrera Machado.
Its construction began in 1956, by the project of Construction Works Corporation S.A.integrated by Charlie Bacon, Arthur Fedelman, and Bartolomé Bastard.
The hotel opened on December 10, 1957, with a musical magazine presented at the Cabaret Copa Room with Ginger Rogers and alongside it were the comedians Abbot and Maurice Costello and the singer Vic Damonte, under the direction of Jack Cole.
