German cruise starts Cuban season in Santigao de Cuba

HAVANA, Dec 26 (PL) The German cruise ship World Voyage, docked at the terminal of the Guillermo Moncada port in this city, thus starting its Cuban season this weekend.Some 85 tourists are on board the German cruise ship, with a capacity for 200 people, and upon arrival began visiting heritage, cultural and historic sites of the seventh village founded by the Spaniards in Cuba, which recently celebrated its 506th anniversary.

Soraida Lozano, a delegate from the Ministry of Tourism in Santiago de Cuba, highlighted the importance of the beginning of tours of this city, whose goal is to attract visitors so that they decide to return to this territory in eastern Cuba.

She recalled that this past two years have been very hard for tourism in the world and Cuba, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and said that tourism workers and authorities have been preparing to face the resumption of this industry with the necessary health measures to protect cruise passengers’ health and wellbeing.

She also spoke about the improvements made to the hotel and non-hotel infrastructure in order to guarantee healthy and safe tourism, which will also be evident in arrivals scheduled for January and February.

The World Voyage, which came from Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic, will travel to the southern central city of Cienfuegos, considered the Pearl of the South, where its guests will receive a warm welcome.
