Camagüey Airport Awarded by American AirlinesHAVANA, Jun 20 (PL)  Camagüey Airport awarded by American Airlines, the U.S. company with the largest number of operations in Cuba, the Customer Service Cup to the International Airport of this eastern-central region, which gives prestige to the institution.

The airport terminal, which operates 30 weekly international flights, stood out for the quality and management of its infrastructure, which has allowed it to boost its operations to receive the previous year up to 250,000 passengers from several destinations in the world.According to Alfredo Gonzalez, American Airlines’ managing director for the Caribbean, ‘the luggage handling and the way to treat customer are key elements for the passengers’ satisfaction. This makes the airport worthy of the most important prize given by the company.’

The Ignacio Agramonte International Airport in Camagüey competed with more than thirty terminals from all over the world to obtain the recognition that is awarded for the first time to a Cuban terminal.

The executive also said that American Airlines will soon start operating a fifth flight for the Cuban capital, Havana; and that thanks to the results they are proud to operate in Cuba.

Despite the limitations of the U.S. blockade on Cuba and the prohibition for U.S. companies to operate with the Caribbean island, the airline has nine daily flights, five cities intertwined between the two countries, to become the largest of its kind operating on the island.
