Recently opened in the summer of 2013 Mediterráneo Havana has already established itself as one of the best paladares in Vedado. Located in a typical Vedado mansion opposite a long established cafeteria (La Fuente) this is a comfortable and spacious place, which is uncluttered without being uber modern.

I am not sure about the first floor inside but upstairs the balcony offers you an airy pleasant view. There is also a bar up there just inside with some tables, which seems well designed. The food is excellent, with a varied and interesting menu.

We tried the Gazpacho and cheese board as a starter, which were well done. For main courses everything was good from an excellent steak to extremely tasty ravioli. Feedback is overwhelmingly positive on the place and if you haven’t checked it out, put it on the list.

My only grumble was having to leave come midnight. Yes, I know this is a residential neighbourhood but, guys, this is Cuba where regaeton is the norm and I can learn to whisper!
