Varadero Josone Festival near to its inauguration

HAVANA, Aug 15. The Varadero Josone-Rumba, Jazz & Son Festival will be inaugurated on August 21, in Varadero,
famous sun and beach tourist destination, located in the province of Matanzas.From the Hotel Parque Central, in Havana, Issac Delgado, musician and president of the event, pointed out that it will last until August 27 and will use the Sauto Theater in Athens of Cuba and the Josone Park, in Varadero itself, as locations.

He acknowledged that the different genres will be reflected in the festival, from trova, rumba, son, and even urban music.

Among the main artists, the presence of the Muñequitos de Matanzas, the Failde and Aragón Orchestras, Maikel Dinza and Soneros de la Juventud, Alexander Abreu and Havana D’ Primera, Alex Duvall and Divan stood out.

Renier Rodríguez, general director of the Musical Recordings and Editions Company (Egrem), an institution also in charge of the festival, explained that a novelty in this edition is the production chain, given the link between the different economic actors in the country.

Among the main lines of work, he highlighted the care of the Josone park, in accordance with environmental principles.

Odalys Alberdi Gaínza, Egrem events director, acknowledged the support of institutions such as the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, and the different hotel chains in charge of hosting those who will meet at the event.

The Varadero Josone Festival: Rumba, Jazz & Son takes place within the framework of the 330th anniversary of the founding of Matanzas (October 12) and the 160th anniversary of the Sauto Theater (April 6).
