They increase tariff rates on the import of tobacco and alcoholic beverages

HAVANA, Jan. 26th. The Official Gazette of the Republic, in its Thursday edition, makes public the joint Resolution of the Ministers of Finance and Prices and Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment that establishes the increase in tariff rates for the importation of tobacco, cigars, rums and other alcoholic beverages.

The measure is aimed at protecting national production in these areas.

A growth of 30 percent is established for the import of tobacco, cigars, rum and other alcoholic beverages, which will be only 15% when these products come from nations with the most favored treatment, based on signed bilateral agreements.

The measure is part of the plan of action announced by the Cuban Government to correct deformations of our economy and re-boost its development in 2024.
