The Hotel Ambos Mundos reopens after renovation today

HAVANA, 1 Aug. After a renovation process, today the Ambos Mundos hotel will reopen on the crowded Obispo Boulevard, in Old Havana,Ernest Hemingway’s favorite place to stay during his stays in Cuba before settling in Finca Vigía.

Room 511 – the favorite of the American writer, because from it he could see the entrance to the port and the sea – is preserved as a small museum, to commemorate that he wrote the novels The Green Hills of Africa and To Have or Not to Have there, as well as newspaper articles.

The property dates from 1924, in a privileged location, and although it maintains its atmosphere of that time, it is equipped with all the comforts for its guests.

The Ambos Mundos belongs to the catalog of Habaguanex Hotels, of the Gaviota Group, with comfortable and personalized facilities in the historic center of Havana.
