Sunwing Airlines Adds Cuba As ‘Easy Entry Destination’

Sunwing set to take over all 11 hotels on Cayo Largo

HAVANA, Nov. 15th As Cuba reopens to international travellers on Monday, sunny vacation airline Sunwing is making the travel process a simple one for Canadian travellers. Listing Cuba as an ‘Easy Entry Destination’, Sunwing has committed to providing its travellers with a smooth travel experience when visiting Cuba for the first time since the pandemic.

Easy Entry For Canadian Travelers To Cuba

  • Zero change fees: Sunwing is offering passengers zero change fees on flights to Cuba up to seven days before departure.
  • More flight routes: The airline will also be adding routes between Canada and Cuba to its flight itinerary, with flight departures from Canada’s major cities to the destinations of Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria and Holguin.
  • Travellers are required to fill out a health form for arrival to Cuba, which will be provided onboard at passengers convenience.
  • Complimentary medical coverage for Covid: to help cover emergency medical costs on all-inclusive vacation packages for Cuba for bookings made through December 6th, for travel between November 1, 2021, and April 30, 2022.

Flight routes to Cuba this winter from more cities across Canada will align with Canadian airports reopening to international passengers from November 30th.

Cuba’s Travel Restrictions From November 15

As we reported last week, Cuba will be reopening to international travellers without testing or quarantine from November 15. Fully vaccinated travellers must show proof of vaccination prior to travelling to Cuba.

Unvaccinated travellers will have to show proof of a negative PCR test result three days before travel to Cuba and for their departure back to Canada. All travellers must show proof of Covid medical insurance upon arrival.

This update comes just in time for Cuba’s peak tourist season, which is typically from December through May.
