RusMarket, a Russian trading house, is getting ready to open a store in Cuba

HAVANA, Nov 13. The RusMarket trading house is preparing to open its first store of Russian products in Cuba and launch a joint venture,The company’s general director, Alexander Belchikov, informed the Ria Novosti agency.

“The RusMarket project is designed for the long term and includes the opening of the first store of Russian products on the island since most of the Cuban population remembers these goods, so we will create a joint company that will begin operating before the end in 2023,” said the manager.

According to Belchikov, Cuban-Russian relations are experiencing a boom, which includes not only intergovernmental contacts but also the active participation of the business sector, which shows great interest in cooperation between the countries.

He also added that the range of products will grow and will not be limited only to food: at the initial stage, it concerns meat, dairy and canned products, confectionery and beverages.

The businessmen’s plans include supplying Cuba with spare parts for automobiles, machinery, construction equipment and materials, household appliances, textiles and clothing.

“We want to introduce Russian products into the Cuban market and in the same way serve as a gateway to Russia for Cuban products; our company aims to become a link between the two countries,” Belchikov said.
