Roswell Park Cancer Center send donation to Cuban hospital
HAVANA, Apr 26 (ACN) The Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical Surgical Hospital in the capital received today a donation from the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, of the United States, reported the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
A bronchoscope and its accessories make up the donation, which was made within the scope of collaboration with Cuban hospitals on issues related to cancer treatment and the conduct of clinical trials, MINSAP said in a note published on its official website.
According to the text, the bronchoscope will be used in the country as part of clinical trials with the Cuban lung cancer vaccine CIMAVax-EGF, after several Roswell Park doctors offer training on its use this week.
The US doctors will hold technical meetings at the Hermanos Ameijeiras hospitals and the National Center for Minimal Access Surgery, with the specialists and addresses of these centers, the agency added.
The Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, located in New York and founded in 1898, was the first in the United States to focus specifically on cancer research.
