Roberto Fonseca gives the final notes to the Jazz Plaza Festival
HAVANA, Jan 21th (PL) Renowned Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca will give the final notes of the 33rd International Jazz Plaza Festival, which concludes this Sunday night.
Fonseca’s performance is scheduled for 21:00 in the Sala Avellaneda of the National Theater of Cuba, where he will be on stage with several guest artists, including X Alfonso, his father Carlos and his mother Ele Valdés.
In other venues, but at the same time, the popular music project 8 y Más, integrated by Puerto Rican musicians, will be on stage; the Septeto Santiaguero, the Habana Primera orchestra, and the Austrian trio Dusha Connection.
Other venues will also host concerts, downloads and jam sessions to the account of the hundreds of musicians from various parts of the world attending.
They conclude six hectic days of memorable music in which some of the most outstanding figures of jazz such as Chucho Valdés, Dee Dee Bridgwewater, Ray Lema, Joe Lovano, Victor Goines and Ted Nash have been protagonists.
The festival consolidates itself as one of the most important events of its kind in the world, recognizing the work of its organizers throughout 33 editions and Cuba as a jazz stronghold.
