Reducing the number of US embassy staff in Cuba because of the Havana syndrome?

White House decision awaited on Cuba remittances, U.S. official says
HAVANA, Nov. 28th Independent Cuban media and the Spanish daily 20Minutos say there has been a significant reduction in the number of US and Canadianembassy staff members recently due to an atypical range of neurological conditions. It is called “Havana Syndrome”.The mysterious disease consists of a series of neurological diseases that may be caused by an attack of radio waves.

14ymedio reported on Friday that with the increase in the number of cases of “Havana Syndrome”, the number of employees of the US diplomatic mission in Cuba has decreased sharply in recent years.

Diplomats, embassy security personnel, and their family members began leaving Cuba as their health problems worsened, particularly headaches, memory loss and vomiting.

The situation is similar in the case of the Canadian embassy in Havana, where 14 officials were due to leave Cuba due to health problems.

14ymedio indicated that the Kremlin denied on Thursday that it was behind actions that caused a mysterious illness among diplomats working in Cuba, as indicated by some US media recently.

Another independent Cuban website, CiberCuba, also notes that the Americans have in recent years reduced the size of the embassy in Havana to a minimum. He says this is due to the high number of “Havana syndrome” cases.

The portal indicates that the first case of its kind is related to an employee of the US Embassy in Havana. It is reported that US services described the events as “sound attacks” and that a total of more than 200 Americans were victims of them, including diplomats working in China, Germany and Austria.
