Pemex sends another shipment of oil to Cuba

HAVANA, December 12. Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) through “Gasolinas Bienestar” continues to send “Istmo” type crude oil to Cuba, according to a document from the Pajaritos maritime terminal.In June of this year, Pemex, through “Gasolinas Bienestar” sent a total of 350 thousand barrels of isthmus crude oil to Cuba.

The crude oil sent to the Caribbean island totaled 700 thousand barrels in July, almost double compared to the immediately previous month.

On this occasion, the state’s productive company shipped 54,755 barrels of crude oil to the Caribbean island bound for the port of Cienfuegos.

The hydrocarbon was loaded in the port of Coatzacoalcos to the ship “La Esperanza”.

So far this six-year term, Pemex has made oil shipments to Cuba, as humanitarian aid, after the sanctions imposed by the United States on Venezuela, which has had difficulties in recent years to maintain shipments to the Caribbean island.

The donations have caused friction between the Mexican and U.S. governments.
