HAVANA, Nov. 1st The Spanish group Iberostar begins its staggered calendar of reopening in Cuba, with the return to activity of six hotels in which more than 300 safety and hygiene measures have been implemented through the How We Care program.
The chain will receive this Saturday, at the Iberostar Selection Varadero, 150 travel agents and representatives of tour operators from Germany, who will arrive on a Condor Airlines flight to learn about the protocols that guarantee safe vacations.
On October 15, Cuba reopened Varadero and Condor’s flight will be the first from Germany after the temporary closure of the island due to the pandemic. The objective of this trip organized by the hotel group is to show the agents the hygiene and safety measures at all times: on the plane, at the destination and in the hotels.
The Group has already started its reopening calendar in America and now adds Cuba, wherein the coming weeks it will have six active hotels again. The return to operations has started with Iberostar Selection Varadero, Iberostar Selection Bella Vista Varadero e Iberostar Tainos, all of them in Varadero.
In the coming weeks, Iberostar Selection Ensenacho, Iberostar Daiquirí and Iberostar Selection Holguín are expected to follow, waiting to add more openings in the coming months due to the reopening of borders, and the reactivation of demand and air connectivity.

Once in Cuba, the agents and tour operators of the German market will attend a workshop with local suppliers and a Top Talk at the Iberostar Grand Packard, a benchmark of great luxury in the heart of Havana open exclusively to host the event, in which the CEOs of Condor and DER Touristik will participate; the president of Schauinsland Reisen and that of DRV; the ambassador of Germany in the country, and the global commercial director of the Iberostar Group. Also present will be the president of Grupo Iberostar, Miguel Fluxá, CEO Sabina Fluxá, and CSO Gloria Fluxà.

Iberostar manages a score of hotels in Cuba, totalling more than 6,000 rooms spread over Havana, Varadero, Cayo Santa María, Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, Holguín and Trinidad. In the coming years, it will add three more hotels in Trinidad and Cayo Cruz.
