Hotel Habana Libre will function as headquarter for Marabana

HAVANA, Jan 28.- The  Habana Libre hotel will function as the venue for the traditional Marabana race during its next four editions, official sources confirmed today.The day before, Meliá Hotels International Cuba and the Marabana/Maracuba National Run and Walk Commission (Cnccmm) signed a letter of intent that will promote joint projects of these entities.

As a result, Habana Libre will be the center from where the organizers will manage the delivery of numbers, registrations, and all the activities related to the main marathon event in the Caribbean country.

Likewise, Meliá Cuba and Cnccmm will work with a view to strengthening running and walking in Cuba.

Destinations such as Cayo Coco, Varadero, Trinidad, or the Escambray mountains are among the possible scenarios for new contests of this nature, indicates a note released today.

A working group made up of experts from both parties will be in charge of monitoring these actions and thus guaranteeing the success of future projects.
