Rainfall could be strong and intense in some localities, with probable increases in the western and central regions, informed Miriam Teresita Llanes, head of the Forecast Center of the Institute of Meteorology.

According to the specialist, it is recommended to pay attention to the evolution of weather conditions during the rest of the week.

The expert recommended that sectors of the economy and the population take the necessary measures due to the great saturation of soils found in most of the country.

Llanes explained that some forecast models insist on the development of a stormy weather zone over the Mosquito Gulf, in the Southwestern Caribbean Sea.

In the last models received these showed a trend of the system to move on a course farther from Cuba, near the Yucatan peninsula, she said.

If the situation suggested by the models comes tru, the possibilities of intensification would be limited and only could its exit to the Gulf of Mexico could enhance its organization, assured Llanes.
