Havana hosts the Jazz Emprende event at the FAC

HAVANA, Feb 27. From February 27 to 29, the Fábrica de Arte Cubano (FAC) in Havana will host the Jazz Emprende event, a platform for entrepreneurship and jazz that seeks to stimulate cultural and business creativity. The event will feature the participation of prominent national and international guests, who will share their experiences and knowledge about the music business, musical entrepreneurship and business chains in the Cuban economy.

Among the guests is Javier Fernández Poyo, an expert in innovation and technology with 20 years of experience in the retail sector. Fernández Poyo has worked in companies such as Decathlon and Desigual and has promoted the first startup accelerator in the fashion industry in Spain, Awesome Lab.

Currently, he works as an advisor to different startups and corporations.

Another luxury guest is Jason Olaine, vice president of Jazz programming at Lincoln Center, one of the most prestigious institutions of the genre in the United States. Olaine will offer the conference The Business Side of Jazz, based on his experience in managing the artistic concepts of the Lincoln Center season.

Additionally, Olaine is a renowned Grammy-winning record producer, with more than 25 albums by musicians such as Roy Hargrove, Michel Brecker and Herbie Hancock, among others.

Jazz Emprende will also offer master classes, workshops and concerts by artists such as Roberto Fonseca, Aldo López Gavilán, Robert Glasper, Eme Alfonso, Derrick Hodge and Yasek Manzano.

The event is organized by Marta Deus, Ruly Herrera, Negolution, Four Wives and FAC, with the aim of creating a space for exchange and learning between jazz lovers and entrepreneurs.
