German Businessmen are seeking to expand their business with Cuba

HAVANA, Jan 18 (PL) Businessmen from the German Federal State of Baden-Wuttemberg started off on negociations in Cuba, in order to identify new business and investmentopportunities in this Caribbean Island.

These business exchanges shall be extended up to next January 20, including a German visit to the Special Economic Development Zone of Mariel at the western part of the country, said the President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, Orlando Hernández Guillén, at the inauguration ceremony held at Meliá Cohiba Hotel.

Governmental bodies from Baden-Wuttemberg are heading the German delegation, which boasts 12 German Companies´ General Managers engaged in the production of automotive equipment, industrial machineries, as well as medical products.

There are also some entities which offer Consultancy Service for infrastructure projects, as well as provide solutions for renewable energies and system engeneering for telecommunication and information technologies.

We are strongly interested in expanding our contacts with Cuba, so as to obtain first-hand insights on joint business and trade possibilities; stated Johannes Hauser, official representative of German industry and trade for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

According to Hernández Guillén, the Baden-Wuttemberg delegation is representing some strategical and interesting sectors for boosting Cuban economic development for way into 2030, as construction, transportation, health services and industry sectors.
