French Flutist Sibel Pensel Offers Concert in Havana

HAVANA, Feb 10th   (PL) The French flautist Sibel Pensel will offer today a concert in Oratorical San Felipe Neri of this capital, dedicated to the Cuban historian Eusebio Leal Spengler in the frame of 27th International Book Fair of the Book.

With the participation of the Band of the Top Institute of Art (ISA), it encloses Lyceum Mozartiano, and under the guidance of José Antonio Méndez, the gala will take place at 19:00, local time.

Flute and piano will be the protagonists of the first part of the program since the French will share the soloist’s roll with her own brother, the recognized pianist Leo Pensel.

In this occasion, the flautist will interpret the Sonata 3, of Philippe Gaubert; the Prelude to the Dream of of a faun, in version for flute and piano, of Claude Debussy; and, finally, the work called Andante y Rondo, by Franz Doppler; along with the Cuban Niurka González, who touches the same instrument.

The second part of the concert will allow to listen, for the first time in Cuba, to the work of the Italian Armando Ghidoni, emphasized for fusing the classical music with the jazz.

Next 12th, February 13 and 14, the soloist and also French pedagogue will give lectures (teaching method) in the facilities.

Topics as the skill and interpretation of the flute, taking like modality the school of France, will count between the discursive Pensel proposals for the conference programmed on February 14.

A soloist and pedagogue of recognized trajectory in the artistic sphere, Pensel is a teacher in the Conservatory of the University of Nice, where he attends to flautists of diverse nationalities and acts as a jury in important international competitions.
