Our Failure to Comply with “Stay-at-Home” Nears a Year

HAVANA, Feb. 26th The eighth edition of the Portfolio of opportunities for foreign investment in Cuba for 2021,

aims to incorporate, among its options, the businesses identified by companies subordinate to local government structures.

As explained by Katia Alonso Cañizares, Director of Business with foreign capital of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex), the intention of this new conception is to carry out a survey of the existing potential at the municipal and provincial level, fundamentally to generate exports.

The decision responds to the need to promote products and services from the base and to contribute, from the activity of foreign investment to the autonomy of the territories, she added. At the end of 2020, the country had 503 projects with foreign investment, 43 more than the previous year, and which involve an amount of more than 12 billion dollars.

SINGLE WINDOW WILL FAVOR

From the implementation of the improvement policy for the exercise of self-employment, as part of the Ordering Task, the procedures for new authorizations for the exercise of the work project presented by the interested party will be carried out through a Window only.

The platform will group, in a single unit, all the different procedures that the citizen must carry out before the public administration, and will be supported by a computer system for the capture and flow of information, which will favor agility, transparency, and simplification of procedures in the granting of permits and authorizations related to self-employment.(Granma)
