Emir of Qatar highlighted conversations with president of Cuba

HAVANA, Dec. 3  The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, highlighted today the official talks with the president of Cuba,Miguel Díaz-Canel, held at the Lusail Palace in this city.

“We are glad for the visit of our friend, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel,” he highlighted on his account on the social network economic ties.

His Highness also commented that they addressed the latest developments in the Gaza situation, and committed to working to increase the coordination of joint efforts in international forums to stop Israeli aggression and achieve lasting peace for occupied Palestine.

The Cuban president, for his part, described the official talks as fruitful, where they shared the interest of deepening political-diplomatic ties.

Likewise, he pointed out that both parties ratified the will to diversify and expand economic, commercial and cooperation ties.

According to the island’s Foreign Ministry, the meeting also recalled the close relations between the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the Emir Father, as well as the historic exchange of visits between both parties.

Díaz-Canel thanked the repeated displays of affection and respect towards the people of the Caribbean nation and his government.

The Cuban head of state arrived in Doha the day before and highlighted on the same digital platform the fraternal welcome he received.

After completing an intense work program in this country, he will conclude his tour in Iran, according to the official agenda.

Cuba and Qatar established diplomatic relations on December 13, 1989, and their cooperation is evident both in the field of bilateral relations and in multilateral forums.
