Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona win 3 Latin Grammys with “Bailando”

havana-live-enriqueiglesiasbailandoHAVANA, 21 November  “Bailando”, the popular theme of Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias and the Cubans Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona, was the big winner at the gala of the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas on Thursday evening.

The song won the awards for Song of the Year, Best Urban Performance and Urban Song on a night in which the announcement by President Obama on US immigration policy, made shortly before the Grammys got underway, was widely celebrated.
“This is a historic day for all Latin Americans living in the United States,” said Enrique Iglesias on a video connection from Paris when receiving one of the three prizes. In addition, the 43 students missing in Mexico since 26 September were remembered by the artists and audience.
Iglesias, Bueno and Gente de Zona were the big winners, but they were not present in Las Vegas as they are on a European tour. The gala ended with “Dancing” but played by them at a concert in Madrid.
