Cuba International Jazz Festival comes to an end

2856-jazz-plaza-2016-560x284HAVANA, Dec 18 (PL) The U.S. group The Snarky Puppy and African singer Fatoumata Diawara are closing today in Cuba the 32nd International Festival Jazz Plaza with aperformance which will also be joined by local artists.

The Snarky Puppy is a group directed by double bass player Michael League that has been listed by Billboards and Top Albums on Contemporary Jazz.

Meanwhile, Diawara, from Cote d´Ivoire, will perform also at the Mella Theater in Havana with Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca and his group Temperamento.

The folk group Osain del Monte will perform along with these Jazz musicians, invited to the closing performance of the festival, held in Havana and Santiago de Cuba from December 15th to 18th.

Jazz musicians from 10 countries, including some of Cuba’s best players, participated in the ensembles, jam sessions, exhibitions, talks and concerts during the four-day festival founded in Havana in 1980 by Bobby Carcasses, awarded with the National Prize of Music.
