Cuba and Dominican Republic talk on migratory issue

HAVANA, Sep 4th Cuban and Dominican Republic officials gather today here for the realization of favorable mechanisms to achieve a regular, orderly and safe migration in the context of the tenth round of bilateral talks on the issue.

The meeting will also enable to agree on strategies to confront human trafficking and the smuggling of migrants in the region. It will be an opportunity to check the status of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding, signed by both countries in agreement with the Cuban chancellery.

Likewise, concerned talks will lead to the analysis of the problems of mutual interest, according to the Cubaminrex site.

On the Cuban side, the meeting is presided by Ana Teresita González, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and by the Dominican Marjorie Espinosa, Vice-Chancellor in charge of the Consular and Migration Affairs. (PL)
