Carnival adds 23 sailings to US-Cuba cruise programme for 2019-2020

HAVANA, may 11th Carnival Cruise Line has added 23 new sailings to its US-Cuba cruise programme for 2019-2020, including the first voyage from the Port of Charleston, South Carolina.

In 2019-2020, Carnival will have five ships sailing three- to five-day cruises from four homeports on the US East Coast.

On 21 November 2019, the 102,853gt Carnival Sunshine will sail Carnival’s maiden itinerary from Charleston to Havana, becoming the largest-ever cruise ship to visit the Cuban capital. Carnival Sunshine will also offer eight five-day cruises that include calls in Havana and Freeport, The Bahamas between January and April 2020.

Meanwhile, Carnival Triumph will sail eight five-day cruises featuring an overnight in Havana and a day-long call in Nassau, The Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale between December 2019 and April 2020. Guests will also be able to enjoy a five-day cruise featuring an overnight in Havana and a visit to the private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay in January.

Two ships will be based at PortMiami, Florida. In November 2019, Carnival Victory will offer a three-day departure that includes a day-long call in Havana, while Carnival Sensation will sail two five-day trips with an overnight call in Havana and visits to Freeport and Nassau in February 2020. Carnival Sensation will also provide a four-day cruise with an overnight in Havana and an extended visit in Nassau the following month.

Departing from Port Tampa Bay, Carnival Paradise will sail a five-day voyage on 18 November 2019, which features an overnight in Havana and a call in Key West, Florida.

“Cuba has proven to be extremely popular with our guests and we’re delighted to provide even more opportunities to experience and explore this fascinating destination with these new voyages departing from four key East Coast homeports, including the first Cuba cruises from Charleston,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Guests will be able to choose from almost 20 shore excursions and enjoy various Cuban-themed activities, entertainment, Havana-inspired deck parties, trivia contests and salsa lessons onboard their ships.
A Cuba expert will also host onboard talks about the country’s history and culture.
