Blue shark caught off the coast of the Malecón in Havana
HAVANA, Jul 2nd. A huge blue shark ended up in the nets of Cuban fishermen in the vicinity of the Havana Malecón. Dior Ruiz turned to Facebook to share amazing images of a huge shark seen at La Punta del Malecón in Havana.
The shark, which is about eight feet long, is shown with ropes wrapped around its body, possibly implying its capture in the open sea by a fishing boat.
The blue shark is one of the most recognizable sharks due to its distinctive metallic blue color and graceful shape. It can reach a length of up to 3.8 meters and weigh up to 200 kilograms, making it one of the largest sharks that can be found in Cuban waters.
Although the blue shark is known for its imposing appearance, it is important to note that it does not pose a direct threat to humans.
