Ancient Music Festival Gathers Foreign Artists in Havana

havana-live- 11th Esteban Salas Ancient Music Festival, 11th Esteban Salas Ancient Music Festival,HAVANA, Feb 4 (PL) Artists from Latin America, Europe and the United States will converge here during the 11th Esteban Salas Ancient Music Festival, to be held from February 12 to 21, stated today Teresa Paz, director of Ars Longa, host group of the event.

According to Paz, oboist Alfredo Bernardini and soprano Valentina Marghinotti from Italy; Uruguayan organist Cristina García Banegas and German clarinetist Susanne Ehrhardt are part of the foreign artists who will participate in the meeting.

During a meeting with reporters at the Palacio del Segundo Cabo in Havana, the director of Ars Longa also informed the event will be honored with the presence of Cuban Alejandro Martinez (Chelo), Alberto Rosas (Flute) and the Camara de Musica Eterna directed by maestro Guido López-Gavilán.

Melodies of Baroque, Middle Ages and the Renaissance music will reemerge in Havana through the concerts of Ensemble Lauda, choir Exaudi and Vocal Luna as well as Ensemble Meridionalis from the United States.

The event, that also includes conferences, workshops and exchanges between professionals, will have as main venues the Minor Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Church of Paula.
