HAVANA, February 7. The water supply in the municipalities in the west of Havana will be interrupted this Thursday, February 8, throughout the day, the Aguas de La Habana Company informed its customers. According to the entity, the effects will last between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm and are related to maintenance work, and repairs to the conductors and power lines that feed the Cosculluela supply source.
According to the official note, these are the planned interruptions by areas and distributions:
Marianao Municipality: Puente Nuevo District, El Husillo and the Technological University of Havana.
Playa Municipality: Repartos Buenavista, La Ceiba, Kholy, Almendares, Almendares Extension, Alturas de Miramar and Cira García.
“Once the maintenance and repair work is completed, the water service will be gradually restored to its normal schedules,” the statement indicates.
The Aguas de La Habana Company apologized to the customers who will be affected, but as expected, several Internet users have commented on the publication to complain about the instability of the service.
Currently, the entity also works in the Rocafort Popular Council, in San Miguel del Padrón and in Martín Pérez, as reported on social networks, to resolve complaints from the population of the area.
On the other hand, they are also undertaking work to eliminate several important leaks in the Vía Monumental, in Luyanó, and in the Rotunda of Cojímar, and once the penetration of the sea into the Havana coast is finished, they will have to take part in the cleaning, sanitizing and restoration of the area.
In Havana, tens of thousands of people depend on pipes to supply water, while in most of the outlying areas, the liquid delivery schedule extends between three and five days, that is, they receive water every little less than a week.
