Eckhardt Rehberg confirmed the death of his colleague, Karin Strenz, 53.

The spokesperson said that Strenz was traveling with her husband. Due to a medical emergency, the pilots of the Boeing 767-300 of Condor Airlines made an unscheduled landing at Shannon Airport in Ireland, from where Strenz was transferred to the Hospital of the University of Limerick, but doctors were unable to save her, according to The Clare Herald website.
An autopsy should clarify the causes of her death.
Strenz worked in the Bundestag (Federal Parliament) since 2009 and was a member of the Defense Committee. In recent years, the deputy was plagued by a corruption scandal and was stripped of her immunity in January 2020.
Strenz is suspected of having received money and gifts in exchange for promoting Azerbaijani interests.
