14 Mercedes-Benz ambulances donate to fight COVID-19

HAVANA, Jan 15.  A total of 14 Mercedes-Benz ambulances were delivered this Thursday as part of a donation made by MCV Comercial S.A.

and the collaboration of different entities and people reported the Ministry of Transportation of Cuba (MITRANS) in their profiles on social networks.

The entity pointed out that the new ambulances will help reinforce the country’s confrontation with COVID-19.
Ayman Ackram, general manager of MCV Comercial (Mercedes-Benz in Cuba), pointed out that “we are businessmen identified with the country and grateful for the magnificent work carried out by MINSAP and other Cuban institutions to contain COVID 19”.
“This has given us security, not only for us and our families but for all the people of Cuba. These 14 ambulances summarize our way of expressing our deepest gratitude to them, ”he added.
In thanking the gesture that includes personal donations from businessmen, in addition to those from their entities, the Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez, highlighted the value of this humanistic and solidarity donation by those who, not only clearly challenge the blockade by investing in Cuba but support our battle for life.

At the end of the event, several businessmen proposed new donations. Another 7 ambulances will be rehabilitated by the management of Mercedes Benz from these initiatives and more could be added as the days go by. Each ambulance restored with all its benefits has an approximate cost of between 40 thousand and 60 thousand USD.

The event was chaired by the Minister of Public Health of Cuba, José Ángel Portal Miranda, and the head of MITRANS, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila.
