Havana, May 18th (PL) Cuban and foreign young Pianists from Bulgaria, China, France, Israel, Eslovaquia, Rusia, Ucrania will gather in Havana from May 31 to June 7 at the 5th Meeting of Young Pianists, organizers informed today.
The event is being held by the Cuban piano professor at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, Solomon Gadles Mikowsky. The event brings together 14 interpreters from Bulgaria, China, France, Israel, the Slovak Republic, Russia, Ukraine and the host country.
As in the previous edition, Russian Alexandre Moutouzkine and the Symphony Orchestra of Cuba, directed by maestro Enrique Perez Mesa, will open the program at Martí Theater located in the historical center of this capital.
Also in the framework of the meeting will be presented the phonogram Russian Before the Cuban Rhythm, by of Moutoukine, recently awarded with the International Prize Cubadisco 2017, result of a co-production between the ‘Esteban Salas’ Musical Heritage Cabinet and the producing houses La Ceiba and Colibrí.
The presentation will take place on June 3 in the Minor Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, another of the venues of the meeting, among which are also the Ignacio Cervantes Room and the ‘Esteban Salas’ Musical Heritage Cabinet.
The representation of Cuba will be extended in the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of the Arts, attached to the Mozart Lyceum of Havana.
With the consent of the Office of the City Historian, the event is considered as a point of convergence for consecrated and emerging musicians from all over the world.
