HAVANA, Mar 30 (PL) Several Ballet Academies to Dialogue in Havana on artistic education in Cuba from April 9 to 19, announced the director of the Fernando Alonso National School, Ramona de Saá.
The 23rd International Meeting of Academies for teaching ballet is a unique event ofits kind in the world and in 2017 will have attendees from Mexico, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, the United States, Peru, Italy, the Netherlands and other nations.
The number of participants can not be determined yet, as the registration remains open, informed the professor at a press conference.
For 10 days, the registered trainees will be able to take lessons of physical preparation, tips, repertoire, choreographic composition, dances of character and classic duo, among several subjects.
De Saá will give master lectures on teaching methodology of the Cuban ballet school, accompanied by the physical trainer Jose Candia and the historian of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC), Miguel Cabrera.
The meeting will be dedicated to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who died in November and, according to the director of the event, was a key figure in the development of ballet education in the country and presented the institution with Current headquarters.
