HAVANA,March 7 (acn) Over 1,200 experts from 39 countries are gathering in Havana for the 2nd International Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation, aimed at promoting the exchange of expertise, integration sustainable practice and the achievements in research and innovation.
The forum, taking place at Havana’s Conventions Center up to March 9th, includes key-note lectures by renowned foreign and local experts; workshops on priority issues related to innovation and technology in today’s world.
The event’s program will also assess the development of information technologies and communications, nuclear technologies, renewable energy sources, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry, nano-science, climate change and social sciences.
The forum will grant the National Innovation Prize to those works with significant results in the scientific and technologic areas, which have had an impact on the country’s social and economic development.
The program also includes an exhibit of projects telling of scientific and technological results carried out by local and foreign companies.
The First event of this kind was held in Eastern Havana in 2016.
