HAVANA, Aug 3 (PL) An exhibition of almost 100 Cuban paintings will be opened by the National Council of Plastic Arts (CNAP) on August 4th at the Gran Teatro Alicia Alonso, said organizers here today.
The exhibition titled ‘Se hace camino al andar’ gathers some of the best Cuban contemporary art owned by CNAP from the period 2014 to 2016, with paintings by worldwide famous artists and also emerging artists, CNAP president Teresa Dominguez told the Prensa Latina news agency.
The Gran Teatro de La Habana ‘Alicia Alonso’ will host the exhibition of 93 paintings by 43 painters, including Carlos Enriquez, Eduardo Abela, Lesbia Vent Dumois, Pedro Pablo Oliva, Nelson Dominguez and Pedro de Oraa.
The exhibition will be held until September 15th, although organizers might extend the closing date.
This exhibition is the result of an initiative of CNAP that seeks to foster the work of the institution as the host of the most representative contemporary artistic production of Cuba.
