Cuba builds 480 “Diana” buses for intercity transportation

HAVANA, Mar 30 Everybody knows that improving transportation remains one of the great challenges in Cuba, where a new batch of well-known “Diana” buses areplanned for this year.

The Production Company “Evelio Prieto Guillama” – located in Guanajay (Artemisa) – has among its primary objectives the production of 480 “Diana” buses.

According to Martel, the raw material used national production  and a large part of the Company’s workers have many years of experience, which favors the proposed plan to be considered feasible.

To that end, a plan has been proposed that includes the production and assembly of 40 to 45 buses monthly. This is assured by Osmani Martel – Head of the Business Area of the company – in the report of the Information System of Cuban Television.

The first buses “Diana” were assembled in Cuba in 2012. They have not a large capacity, because of demand in the provinces than in Havana, which opts for models of greater capacity, the well-known Yutong.

The total capacity of these buses is 43 or 45 passengers – depending on the model – of them with 26 or 28 places.
