HAVANA, Mar 18 (PL) Cuba Attends as guest country Paris Tourism Fair, which will give greater visibility to the tourist options from the Caribbean nation.
The tourism counselor at the Cuban Embassy in France, Rosa Adela Mejias, toldPrensa Latina that ‘we have been given a relevant place as a guest nation in this edition and it will give us the possibility of winning in communications projection and visibility.’
‘It also allows us to be in the central forum on entertainment to present our latest events,’ the representative stated.
Cuba is participating as a guest country in the fair, along with Finland, Japan and the United States, so each day has been dedicated to one of those destinations.
Mejias emphasized the importance of participating in the show when Cuba ‘has an important position as a leading destination at present, and we attend the fair with a very professional delegation.’
The tourism counselor highlighted the current boom of French tourism to the Caribbean nation, a flow that broke a record in 2016 with 180,000 visitors and a 32-percent increase compared to 2015.
Cuba is participating in the event with a large delegation that includes representatives from Cubanacan, Blue Diamond, Havanatur and Buen Viaje magazine.
The fair opened on Thursday, March 16, and will end on Sunday, March 19, with participation of some 700 exhibitors from France and several countries who are promoting some 500 tourist destinations from around the world.
