Morales will undergo surgery to remove a lump from his throat that causes hoarseness andprevents him from speaking normally. The minister said that Morales is in “direct communication with some tasks that were on today’s (state) agenda, adding that the president “was tracking news not only in the country (Bolivia) but international news as well as he awaits surgery tomorrow.”
He thanked South American leaders and social movements for their solidarity and concern for the health of the Bolivian president.
Morales explained before traveling to Cuba yesterday that “according to doctors (the condition) is not a serious issue” and the surgery is “required to improve his health,” adding, “I have no pain in my throat, just a hoarseness.”
