HAVANA, Nov 20 (PL) On the way to Havana, today departing from the international airport of Buenos Aires, Argentina, a replica of the olive green cap that Fidel Castro used.
Members of the Union of Cuban Residents in that South American nation (URCA) with the support of the Argentine Movement of Solidarity with the island (MasCuba), united to pay tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban revolution on the first anniversary of his death.
The gigantic cap, made of metal and weighing 30 kilos, and a meter and a half long and 50 centimeters high, was built in sheet metal with the help of workers from the town of Carmen de Areco, the head town of the homonymous party based in the province of Buenos Aires, who donated the materials and put all their love for this project.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Alberto Mas, a member of MasCuba, said that this initiative was born thanks to the URCA and a group of compañeros in solidarity with the Caribbean nation, a dream that today is concrete, he said.
The idea, he explained, is to participate with her during the traditional parade for International Labor Day, on May 1, in Havana and later to make a caravan with her from Havana to the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia, in Santiago de Cuba .
